L4-L5 herniated disc - Back Pain Update #4
Okay quick update… Last night was my first night sleep without any pain killers.
I should have mentioned this earlier, but for anyone with disc pain, to sleep you need many pillows. One between the legs, one under your foot, and I always needed one wedged behind my back and under my side, and on wedged infront under my chest.
But anyway I think either the epidural is finally shrinking the piece of disc material or my body is naturally starting to break it down and relieve the pressure off of the nerve.
Most of my @ss and theigh pain are subsiding, and I think I mentioned in the last post I’m left with a dull pain that comes in waves in my ankle and lower calf.
Walking is still a problem, but I feel now it’s the percentage of the problem has probably swung to lack of muscle in my theigh and calf.
I think I also previously mentioned my left leg has wasted to about half the size of my right leg, mainly from non use, and me protecting it as it caused huge pain if I moved it.
So I figure if I give it a few more days for the disc material to shrink and start working on my strength in my left leg I’ll probably get the walking thing happening.
Anyhow, feeling positive and drug free.
